Christy Moore
Friday 18 September · 20:00 · Leisureland Galway
Christy Moore has released thirty solo albums since his self-titled 1969 debut, including a run of multi-platinum live records between 2017 and 2019, and his 2021 album won Folk Album of the Year at the Hot Press Awards. He plays Leisureland with five decades of songs and stories behind him.
A Moon for the Misbegotten
Tuesday 15 - 10 September · 19:30 · Town Hall Theatre
Garry Hynes directs Druid's revival of Eugene O'Neill's drama, starring Eileen Walsh as Josie Hogan, the last of her immigrant Irish family still at home with her alcoholic father, and Marty Rea as their landlord James Tyrone. Lorcan Cranitch, Rory Nolan and Cathal Ryan complete the cast in a story of grief, longing and the possibility of escape.
Clifden Arts Festival
Thursday 17 to Sunday 27 September · Various venues, Clifden
Now in its 49th year, Clifden Arts Festival is Ireland's longest-running community arts festival. The eleven-day programme spans music, literature, visual art, theatre and workshops across the town, including sessions held in local schools.

The Irish trad band marks ten years together with its Decades Tour, mixing driving rhythms and folk energy with support from Ciaran Quigley.
The Lemonheads

Evan Dando fronts the Boston alt-rock band on the Love Chant World Tour, with Monroe's Live the Galway stop on a short run of Irish dates this month.
Split The Bill: Culture Night Takeover

Róisín Dubh's Culture Night takeover puts five young acts on the main stage: Copernicus II, Big Nothing, Cats!, Infared and Mentality, presented with Strange Brew Presents.
Guns Reloaded: Guns N' Roses Experience
Saturday 19 September · 19:30 · Róisín Dubh
Guns Reloaded recreates Guns N' Roses' late-1980s sound with replica equipment, working through the hits alongside deeper cuts from the catalogue.
Keywest
Saturday 19 September · 19:30 · Monroe's Live
Keywest head to Monroe's Live on the back of several number-one releases, a sound honed through years of busking before bigger stages.
Wifeswap & Big Nothing Upstairs Takeover
Saturday 19 September · 20:00 · Róisín Dubh
Dublin art-rock project Wifeswap, fronted by Joe Brody, pairs dissonant guitars with spoken-word vocals exploring isolation, and has previously supported Pete Doherty. Galway trio Big Nothing join them upstairs with a raw, high-energy sound blending modern hooks with 90s grunge.

Architecture at the Edge

This year's theme is Le Chéile, the Architectures of Belonging, explored through exhibitions, talks, tours and workshops across the city. Festival Printworks Gallery hosts a temporary exhibition, Settle, in which Trestle Studio proposes a new public interior and gathering space for the city
The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary

The 1986 animated film screens in a new 4K restoration for its fortieth anniversary, revisiting Unicron's arrival as a planetary threat to Cybertron and Earth.

Galway Docklands Festival

The maritime festival sets up along the docks and the Claddagh with Galway Hooker sailing boats, boat-building demonstrations, seafood, live music and family activities, running alongside the Galway International Oyster Festival.
