Greetings from Under the Arch

Town Hall Theatre carries the weight of the week. Fishamble opens Tuesday with Forgotten and follows Wednesday with Underneath, back to back, both written and performed by Pat Kinevane.

Fresh from the Fringe lands Thursday with an evening of new short plays. Jarlath Regan performs Gas Man on Friday. Rhythm and Flow closes Town Hall's run on Saturday. Galway Uke Fest fills Thursday with ukulele events across the city.

This is our pick of what's on this week. As always for a full event list check out the link at the bottom of the email.

Let's dive in 👇

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

Jarlath Regan: Gas Man

Friday 19 June · 19:00 · Town Hall Theatre

Gas Man is ninety minutes of jokes and stories from a comedian who sold out every seat on his Yer Man tour in 2024 and followed it with the acclaimed In Bits in 2025. Regan's observational material is sharp, the stories are properly told, and Town Hall Theatre is the right room for it. His Galway dates tend to go. Worth booking rather than chancing it on the door.

Fishamble: Pat Kinevane

Tuesday 16 June — Forgotten · 20:00 · Town Hall Theatre

Wednesday 17 June — Underneath · 20:00 · Town Hall Theatre

Two consecutive nights from the same performer, two completely different shows. Forgotten is Pat Kinevane's celebrated solo work blending Kabuki movement and Irish storytelling, a piece that has toured internationally for over a decade. Underneath, by the same writer-performer, is darker: a solo play exploring beauty, secrecy, and life on society's margins. Both run 95 minutes. Both are 14+ for language. Fishamble's track record with this material is impeccable; two nights in a row is worth planning around.

Fresh from the Fringe

Thursday 18 June · 19:30 · Town Hall Theatre

An evening of short plays by contemporary Irish writers exploring life's big questions. A sampler format that works well on a Thursday; you get several perspectives in a single sitting and the programme is usually more surprising than a single full-length play.

Rhythm and Flow — D-Dance

Saturday 20 June · 19:00 · Town Hall Theatre

D-Dance's end-of-term showcase at Town Hall Theatre on Saturday evening. A chance to see what the local dance school has been building toward this year.

Curtain Call — Phoenix Stage School

Tuesday 16 June · 19:00 · Studio, Galway

Phoenix Stage School's end-of-term showcase at the Studio on Tuesday night.

Galway Uke Fest

Thursday 18 June · Galway

The Galway Uke Fest takes over the city for a day of ukulele events, sessions, and performances. Check the Facebook page for the full schedule of locations and times.

George Houston

Friday 19 June · 19:00 · Monroe's

George Houston live at Monroe's on Friday night.

Drag Brunch

Saturday 20 June · 15:00 · Monroe's

Drag brunch at Monroe's on Saturday afternoon, with live performances alongside the food. Good start to the Saturday before the Town Hall show in the evening.

Date My Mate

Thursday 18 June · 19:00 · Monroe's

A matchmaking event at Monroe's on Thursday if the theatre programme is not your style this week.

WOMP Events: The Common Knowledge Quiz

Tuesday 16 June · 19:30 · The Ol' 55

Pub quiz at The Ol' 55 on Tuesday night.

Midsummer Nature Day at Brigit's Garden

Sunday 21 June · 10:00 · Brigit's Garden

Guided biodiversity walks at Brigit's Garden on Midsummer morning, free to join. A good Sunday morning if the week has been heavy on late nights.
