Greetings from Under the Arch
Theatre leads the week at Courthouse Square, where the Town Hall Theatre stages four different shows and the neighbouring Mick Lally Theatre opens a new four-night run of Hill of the Hares.
Róisín Dubh keeps pace with its own run of gigs, including The 502s and two nights from Dylan Moran previewing his new stand-up show. Saturday is the busiest night out, with Kíla's Rónán Ó Snodaigh playing An Taibhdhearc while Róisín Dubh and Monroe's each host their own tribute nights.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
Bach, Bows & Arrows: An Audience with Julian & Jiaxin Lloyd Webber
Tuesday 1 September · 20:00 · Town Hall Theatre
Julian and Jiaxin Lloyd Webber combine live performance, archive footage and personal stories exploring Bach's Cello Suites and Julian's career, following the recent publication of his memoir, Bows and Arrows. His back catalogue runs to more than 60 recorded albums, including a Brit Award-winning recording of Elgar's Cello Concerto, and he was the only classical musician to perform at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games. Audience members get the chance to put questions to both performers on the night.
Hill of the Hares
Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September · 20:00 · Mick Lally Theatre
Fregoli Theatre's new play by Galway-based writer Maria Tivnan reunites Cass and Michael at a funeral nine years after they last spoke, tracing love, loss, memory and the pull of home through the Irish landscape. Jarlath Tivnan, Kate Murray and Hannah Rogerson perform the 50-minute production, directed by Tivnan.
Free Lunchtime Concert with ConTempo
Tuesday 1 September · 13:10 · St Nicholas' Collegiate Church
ConTempo string quartet performs in the medieval Lombard Street church, presented with MusicConnects as part of the venue's monthly lunchtime concert series.
The 502s
Wednesday 2 September · 20:30 · Róisín Dubh
Florida indie-folk band The 502s bring their Up, Up, Up the Coast and Across the Pond tour to Galway, following shows in Kilkenny, Cork and Limerick earlier in the week. Formed by Ed Isola, who began writing songs on a banjo and named the band after his home address, the group built a following through the viral TikTok success of "Just a Little While," now past 120 million streams on Spotify. The Galway date follows the September 2025 release of their fourth album, Easy Street.
Chris Boldt
Thursday 3 September · Doors 20:00 · Róisín Dubh
Belfast-born, Bozeman-based country and Americana artist Chris Boldt returns for a second Irish tour with his full band, following a sold-out debut run. His debut single "Heaven's Eyes" has approached 16 million streams and soundtracked more than 80,000 TikTok videos.
The Lizberries
Thursday 3 September · Doors 20:00 · Monroe's Live Backstage
Formed in Milan in 2010, The Lizberries are a tribute act built around the songs of Irish rock band The Cranberries, with a career that has taken them from Milan's Alcatraz to Dolan's in Limerick.
Thumper
Friday 4 September · 20:30 · Róisín Dubh
Dublin psych-pop six-piece Thumper bring two drummers, four guitars and a wall of distortion, melody and hooks to Galway.
Country Superstars
Friday 4 September · 20:00 · Black Box Theatre, Town Hall Theatre
The touring tribute show recreates Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette, Garth Brooks, John Denver, Glen Campbell and Shania Twain, led by impressionists Sarah Jayne and Andy Crust with the Country Superstars Band. Duration is 125 minutes including interval.
Allie Sherlock

Cork singer-songwriter Allie Sherlock, who began busking on the streets of Cork and Dublin, has headlined her own Irish shows and supported OneRepublic, Picture This, Gavin James and Freya Ridings across Europe.
Men In The Box – Alice in Chains Tribute

Formed by musician friends who first played together for a one-off Alice In Chains Unplugged set in Cork in 2024, Men In The Box recreate the band's grunge catalogue, with Carl Gillic on vocals and John Sherlock and Conall McMahon on guitars.
Rónán Ó Snodaigh & Myles O'Reilly

Kíla's Rónán Ó Snodaigh and filmmaker-musician Myles O'Reilly bring Irish-language song, hand percussion and spacious collaborative arrangements to an intimate seated concert.
Ceolquarians: A Live Tribute to D'Angelo

After a sold-out Dublin show, an eleven-piece band performs D'Angelo's Voodoo album in full alongside selections from Brown Sugar and Black Messiah, with special guests promised for the Galway date.
Undercurrent (Earthfall)
Wednesday 2 September · 20:00 · Town Hall Theatre
Earthfall's dance theatre and circus production draws on Zimbabwean, Brazilian and Irish dance forms to follow four people trapped in a shifting, rule-bound limbo, watched by a young girl who cannot tell her nightmares from reality. A companion workshop open to newcomers runs at the Town Hall Studio on 1 September at 16:00; advance booking is required due to limited capacity.
Mary's Hopes and Dreams
Thursday 3 September · 20:00 · Town Hall Theatre
Mary's mundane life as a stay-at-home housewife turns upside down when her best friend pushes her toward a new world of opportunities, in Blood in the Alley Productions' touring comedy with Hubcap Theatre. The 85-minute show, staged without an interval, mixes slapstick, rap, mime, song, dance and martial arts as Mary works past her domineering husband to chase her hopes and dreams.
Shorelines Visual Art Exhibition 2026
Sunday 6 September · 17:00 · Irish Workhouse Centre, Portumna
The exhibition's official opening unveils work by local artists in the long gallery alongside invited artists Janet Graham, Dee Ci, Thomasina Early and Avia Gurman Murphy in the double gallery and courtyard, with a demonstration from jewellery artist Silvia of Jandy Jewellery. The Workhouse Centre also hosts Kieran Tuohy's bog oak exhibition, Dark Shadows, and a set of famine-era engravings, The Story of Ireland Famine Sketches by David Rooney, as part of Shorelines Arts Festival, which runs 10 to 13 September.
Dylan Moran: Looking for Trouble

BAFTA and Perrier-winning comedian Dylan Moran, star of Black Books, previews his new stand-up show ahead of its full tour. The Guardian called it "superb"; the Metro called it "joyfully cynical." Róisín Dubh hosts a second warm-up night on 8 September.
Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger

The concert documentary follows Liam and Noel Gallagher's reunion tour, Oasis Live '25, with rehearsal, backstage and onstage access plus the pair's first joint interviews in more than twenty years.
Clarinbridge Market Day
Saturday 5 September · 12:00 to 18:00 · Village Green, Clarinbridge
The 34th annual market brings live traditional music and dancing, food stalls, oyster tasting, Irish handmade crafts, a petting farm, face painting, wool spinning and bread-making demonstrations, and a display of vintage tractors, cars and boats. Proceeds benefit local community organisations and charities.
